{Play} Fancy, Fresh, and Fruity Non-Alcoholic Drinks For Summer

Now that Summer is here, all I want to do is sit outside, soak up some sun, and sip on an ice cold drink. While there are plenty of delicious alcoholic cocktail recipes out there, I've come up with a few fancy options sans booze (partly in honor of all of the pregnant bloggers out there right now!). There's no need to feel left out of the party with these drinks to sip on. They're delicious, not too sweet, and they definitely feel special. Our flavors include Strawberry Mint, Lavender Lemon, and Grapefruit Lime Blackberry (left to right). Find the recipes below! 

P.S. Obviously we won't judge you should you choose to include a splash of vodka or gin to spice things up a bit.

Simple Syrup

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup water

Boil sugar and water together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Store in a mason jar in refrigerator for up to a week. 

 

Each of these recipes make one drink each. Multiply ingredients accordingly. 

Strawberry Mint Soda

1 sprig of fresh mint

3 ripe strawberries

1 tablespoon simple syrup

Ice

Sparkling water

Crush mint lightly with hands and place in a collins glass. In a small bowl mash strawberries with the back of a fork and add to glass. Add simple syrup, ice, and fill with sparkling water. Stir and enjoy!

 

Lavender Lemon Soda

For this recipe follow the directions for simple syrup (above) but add 2 cut up lavender flowers during the boiling process. Strain into a mason jar and label to differentiate between the plain syrup. 

Juice of 2 small lemons

2 tablespoons lavender simple syrup

Ice

Sparkling water

In a collins glass stir together lemon juice, lavender simple syrup, ice, and sparkling water. Garnish with a lemon twist.

 

Grapefruit Lime Blackberry Soda

5 blackberries

Juice of 1 grapefruit

Juice of 2 limes

2 teaspoons simple syrup

Ice

Sparkling water

In a small bowl mash blackberries with the back of a spoon. Add grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to a collins glass. Add mashed blackberries and ice. Top with sparkling water and stir.
